Arka's Cape
Named after the famous adventurer, Arka’s Cape is a small coastal town located in the uppermost part of the valley. Arka’s Cape is far from tropical, as strong ocean winds frequent the area. The town is a popular tourist attraction, as many dwarves want to get a glimpse at the ocean.
Arka’s Cape supplies a lot of power from wind turbines planted at the base of the mountain. The town, unlike many of its sisters, has running water and electricity thanks to the turbines. Because of this, Arka’s Cape has expensive real estate. Most soot dwarves cannot afford to live in the area and can only visit as a tourist.
Alongside the beach, the town has set up numerous tents for your soot dwarf to camp at. The tents are free to use, and a nearby building equipped with hot showers. These camps are a good place to meet up with other soot dwarves and have a campfire. Because of the numerous tidepools surrounding the cape and strong winds, swimming in the ocean is not recommended. Instead, tourists can rent a ferry to take them across the water. About a day’s trip away, a large island rests in the ocean. A strong, constant whirlwind prevents any ships from getting too close, but the natural phenomenon is a sight to see.
Arka’s Cape is known for housing rare and magical artifacts. On Thursdays, the town hosts a special market, showcasing many items you can’t get anywhere else. Auctions and raffles are held each week in this town. You can check out the weekly market here.
Arka’s Cape is also home to the Workers' Guild. A large union of soot dwarves dedicated to teaching newcomers their trade. Here, your soot dwarf can learn new skills by taking on an apprenticeship. Classes are currently closed, but eventually, your soot dwarf will be able to attend them.
