Dogma City

For most of their history, soot dwarves have lived underground, powering their cities using geothermal vents. Up until recently, soot dwarves had only known life underground. Their whole world revolved around the city of Dogma, a large steam-punk inspired province that spanned for hundreds of miles. Thirty-five years ago, when a new king came into power, an excavation project was funded. This project led to the discovery of the surface world miles above the city. A large, colorful valley that spanned the length of the city and numerous mountain ranges cradled the scenery.

The city itself is still vibrant and full of life. The vast majority of soot dwarves still live in this city, and consider going outside a taboo. Soot dwarves that return to the city are often shunned for not remaining "pure".
