Friendship Tracker

exp.png

Friendship tracking is an extension of doubloon and EXP orb counting, and it is used to reward people for completing long-term plots with others. Friendship tracking is completely optional and isn't required for every interaction.  You can choose to start logging in your friendship tracker at any time or not at all.

Friendship trackers are a collaborative effort between two different artists to grow their characters alongside each other. In lore, soot dwarves are very social creatures, and will often travel together in small groups.

     What is Friendship Tracking?

You can think of friendship tracking like experience points in a video game. Every time you meet a certain requirement, your EXP increases. Once you reach a certain threshold, you level up. Every level of "friendship" you reach with another player's soot dwarf grants certain perks. Experience points are counted on a dwarf by dwarf basis. If your soot dwarf has two different friends, you would have to keep account of two different trackers.

Friendship tracking is based on an honor code. You are responsible for counting your own experience points. However, if a mod sees you counting them wrong, they may correct you on it.

How Can I Earn Experience Points?

Experience points are earned for every colored picture you draw with the two soot dwarves you are tracking.

Experience points are different from EXP orbs. Experience points are only used for friendship trackers and not upgrade requirements.

For every colored picture drawn with the two soot dwarves interacting, you earn one experience point.

  • Backgrounds are not necessary for the picture but are encouraged

  • The characters must be at least half-bodies. Headshots do not count for experience points.

  • The characters must be visibly interacting with each other, or have a story element in the description about how they are interacting

  • You can count multiple experience points for comics. Every panel of interaction will earn you one experience point

  • You can draw three dwarves interacting at once and count experience points for multiple trackers

     Levels

Here are the different levels, rewards, and the experience points needed to reach them:

*When applying doubloons to a deviation, please be sure to state the levels of the dwarves not owned by you. That way, we can moderate doubloons counting easier.

*It isn't required, but helpful to link proof of your level in the description.

Experience trackers are a collaborative effort between two different artists. Meaning, when one artist earns experience points for their tracker, the other does too.

*The experience points must be earned between the two artists, and a third party drawing the two soot dwarves interacting does not count for points.

Your soot dwarves do not have to be "friends". In fact, they can hate each other's guts. The only thing that matters is that they are interacting with each other.

How to Keep Track of Experience Points?

Because experience points are a collaborative effort, they can be difficult to keep track of!

The best way to keep track of experience points is to create a deviation dedicated to them. For every experience tracker, it is recommended that you have a separate deviation shared between the two artists involved. That way, it is easier to moderate.

For example, artist A hosts the friendship tracker between the two of them. The deviation has a nice drawing of their two dwarves being friends. In the description, it dates the first interaction between the two and the total number of experience points earned.

In the comments, each artist links their deviations that earn an experience point. One deviation per comment. Each comment says how many total experience points they had earned at the time of the drawing. The first comment posted says 1, the second comment posted says 2, and so forth. Each comment is featured to help distinguish it.

*You can each choose to host your own experience tracker or share one between the two. There just needs to be some kind of documented proof.

*Please do not delete any deviations, as it makes points earned in that drawing void.
