The Marren Library is one of the oldest structures in Red Rock. Named after Dominick Marren, a royal knight who was killed in a dungeon, this library is home to the largest collection of knowledge in the outside world. The library stands at three stories tall, crammed to the ceiling with books. Most of the books are from Dogma City, however, a new age of writers have brought in a new collection. Some up-and-coming authors will bring their books into the library and discretely place them on a shelf, hoping they’d be read.

 

The Marren library also stores a hoard of magical artifacts in the basement of the building. Countless grimoires are being transcribed to create more, less powerful, grimoires. For example, a fire bolt grimoire may be transcribed into a candle flame grimoire. With the ability to produce cheap grimoires, the library is able to financially sustain itself while still being free to the public. Out of a token of appreciation, the library will sometimes give away lesser grimoires to adventures to help them on their journey. Lesser grimoires, although not very powerful, have a lot of utility uses. A candle flame grimoire is a great alternative to a fire starter.
